my best friend
I recently discovered Blue Buffalo pet food, which is made from all-natural ingredients. It's the only thing I feed my pets now. It may seem easier and cheaper to feed your dog or cat a brand like Purina or Science Diet. But really, would you feed yourself chicken beaks and eyeballs? Because that's what your pet is eating. It's a bit more expensive, but going organic is one of the best things you can do for your pet. It's better for her coat, digestive system, eyesight, heart, and overall health. I also recommend Nutro, and both are usually available at Petsmart. I know it's important to save a few pennies here and there, especially if you're on a budget. But your pet's food is not the place to be frugal.

so long, linus and lucy
Our two foster pups, Linus and Lucy, were adopted today. These are always bitter sweet days for me, as it's usually difficult to say goodbye to dogs who have made such an impact on my daily life in the short amount of time they live under our roof. But at the same time, it's great to see them go to loving homes (not to mention we get a rest from the constant cleaning and house-training). This particular adoption was especially exciting for me because the two men who adopted Lucy just fell in love with Linus and couldn't leave him behind. So they adopted both puppies! I'm thrilled that brother and sister will stay together and be spoiled rotten on a 14-acre property! If you'd like to get involved and foster a dog or cat, contact City Pet Rescue.
I snapped the above photo of Linus the week before his adoption. I'll never forget him.

Puppy Love
Meet Linus and Lucy, my newest little snugglebugs. This duo was in line for euthanasia just a few short days ago. Their days were numbered, but a wonderful organization called City Pet Rescue pulled them out before it was too late. I've been a foster for CPR for a couple of years now, a difficult but very fulfilling volunteer job. We rescue animals from shelters (or the streets depending on the situation) and find them new loving homes. These two buggers will be up for adoption in a couple of weeks. It's my job to potty train and get them accustomed to being household pets. We don't always have a foster in the house, but when we have one (or TWO, in this case), the Husband and I have our hands full. When we're not cleaning tiny piles of poo, we're talking in squeaky, high-pitched voices, coaxing and praising the little fluff balls. We sound quite silly, but I wouldn't change a thing.
